- I spent the first two years of my life in Germany. My dad was in the army.
- I hate heights, but I have to test myself by always walking out to the edge.
- I’m a huge rule breaker (much to fiance’s chagrin). But only the rules I think are pointless
- I will quit any craft or DIY that requires an excessive amount of cutting things out. I hate scissors.
- I sound really southern when I’m really angry or excited. Otherwise no accent to speak of.
- My biggest “secret” dream is to be able to sing and play an instrument in a band with my soon to be husband. Drew and Ellie Holcomb style.
- Not closing lids after someone is done with something makes me want to smack somebody.
- Harry Potter is my biggest sentimental memory. It’s also the thing I know the most facts about.
- I wrote a detective novel when I was 8, but lost it somewhere.
- I think tattoo sleeves are stupid. Except on Adam Levine.
- Oh, and if you read the title of this post in Quirrell’s voice I’ll love you forever.
Oh and because she’s my favorite person in Hollywood ever (other than Anne Hathaway, and Meryl Streep, and Julie Andrews, okay I have a lot of favorites) you have to watch this post show interview of Jennifer Lawrence. It has confirmed the fact that we would be bets friends if we ever met.
There are times in your life that you can feel the change. You can see a little ways down the road and see how this period of your life will change you. It’s molding time. Everything and everyone in my life seems to need a little bit more of me. I have a little less time for everyone, but I have to give more. It’s all ver confusing, but good I think.
In the midst of this crazy, my sweet man was able to come to see me for the weekend. We were able to do some solid wedding planning and actually talk. Something that’s been more difficult than we thought it would be during this long distance period. This time apart, all the planning and settling in and changes, it’s going to leave its mark on us. But I’m banking on it being for the better.
Now, do I have pictures of anything form this weekend? No, no I do not. Only a blurry mirror picture as I ran out the door, and a tea bag (but that’s from today). OH! and my mom’s wedding dress. I tried that on this weekend, I looked like a Barbie. It was fantastic.
Some serious procrastinating is going on over here. I am a horrible office worker. I’m not entirely sure why, it’s just a fact of my life right now. In other news, I’m wearing white jeans after Labor Day (that’s right guys, screw the rules). Or is it okay now because it’s a new year? In truth, I only break the rules because I don’t know what they are. Major bad girl, right here. Aren’t guys supposed to like bad girls? I’ll have to ask fiancé, I bet that’s why he fell in love with me in the first place. (I can see you all nodding in agreement over there behind your computers).
Anyway, enough rambling. I’m gearing up to do a favorite lipsticks post in the next few days. Because ya know, we all feel blah by the end of February. Or maybe that’s just me. Hopefully this will reinspire your wardrobe and put a little flair in your day.
Oh, and I will officially be back in London and Paris this June! I cannot wait, I feel inspired to learn more French… So here’s a little Europe to usher in your weekend. Have a good one friends!
Because sometimes isn’t it just too easy to get caught up in needing to do BIG important things? When really it’s the little things that tend to say the most about our character and shape us the most as a person. So today, and probably for the next while, my hope and focus and prayer is that I can do the little things with great love and make a difference.
In other news, I’m off to celebrate my man’s birthday this weekend, he’s 22! (I know, we’re babies). So that’ll be tons of fun. I mean really I’m just happy to spend more time with him.
So enjoy your Thursday, it’s almost Friday! I have no idea what the point of this post was.
Thanks Kendi for posting this lovely quote!
Well I guess I am a pretty trustworthy person, I’m on week three of this new big girl job and they left me in charge of the office for a week (go Renee!). So I have been in charge of my own days and making sure everything gets done. And I have good news for you dears still working your tails off in college land, your professors expect a crap ton more from you than your employers. Now don’t take this as one of your future adult world commandments or anything (I’m only in my first job here and my department wasn’t your department), but there will be days when you will get all your work done in two measly hours and then you just sit. Yep, they have paid me to create a Pinterest account and pin things. So if you’re considering staying in college forever, DON’T DO IT IF YOU DON’T HAVE TO! You’re working much harder now and with much higher expectations.
And now a new segment called “What did Renee do all day?”
- Checked voicemails (there weren’t any)
- Searched for good music for the day
- Checked email (also none. I’m not very popular yet)
- Gave someone a phone number
- Walked around because I think I have restless legs syndrome
- new music
- Called some folks and talked about floors from the Renaissance (yeah if you guys want to know about hardwood floors, you hit me up okay?)
- Researched bloggers (AKA looked at blogs)
And yeah it goes on like that all day, mostly flipping between Facebook, blogs, and phone calls. Oh and I forgot to add “look at confusing notes written yesterday that must be in a cryptic code I invented on a whim because 201 ABfG has to mean something right?”
And some music for your day!
I hope everyone had a very Happy Christmas (can you believe it’s already over?!) and was able to spend time with the people they love. I hope it was full of cheer and comfort. Warmth in every meaning of the word, and snow if you were lucky. I spent most of the time at home with my family baking cookies and just being together. This is the Christmas outfit I wish I could have worn. But alas, I did not become a millionaire for Christmas. But I did get a Kitchenaid mixer (YAY) a new book from my sister and a lovely bracelet.
Attention: image heavy post! Not that I thought anyone would mind
Happy December all! I never thought it would get here. It’s currently 63 outside and sunny. Oh Boone, you scoundrel you. It never abides by any sort of season up here. Oh well! I got to pull out my white jeans and go jacket-less. Works for me!top (J. Crew), jeans (Gap), boots (Old Navy–super clearance) Some greens to brighten my room. I don’t have room for a tree, so I had to bring in the spirit somehow. A few fresh cut Christmas greens makes me feel much better. Adorable Christmas cards to send out to no one in particular. I just couldn’t resist the sweater patterns. So, if you want a Christmas card let me know!
Now here’s a peek of some of my favorites from out engagement shoot. All are lightly edited. I was bored one night. And sometimes we dance.
Recently I started working for Her Campus Magazine on the Publicity Team on my college campus. Naturally, a few of us decided to do a Fall Fashion article. I was able to be one of about six autumn ensembles (wow look at those rhymes and alliterations). So please check out the article written by my dear friend and founder of Her Campus on App’s campus, Laura Maddox. It’s adorable! Oh, and did I mention the lovely Haley from Outings and Oxfords was the photographer? Except the wonderful pics of Haley herself. I took those. Hooray for part-time hobbies and fiancés (whoops did I just let that slip) who are brilliant photographers.
